Look no further—over the next few weeks, we are thrilled to introduce you to our fantastic summer crew! 🌟👇

Welcome Josh to Camp Aranzazu! While it’s his very first summer with us, he is definitely no stranger to the magic of the camping world. He has jumped right into the Camp Aranzazu life with incredible energy, and he’s been so excited to meet our amazing campers and work alongside his best friend. He also brings a pretty unique icebreaker to the team—his fun fact is that he’s actually been bitten by a zebra! We are thrilled to have his experience and enthusiasm on board this summer.
Help us welcome back second-year Activity Leader, Mayte! She is thrilled to see returning campers, meet new faces, and make tons of fun memories this summer. Her experience last year made her realize just how much she wanted to come back and revisit the meaningful work being done at Camp Aranzazu. This summer, Mayte is most excited to serve as a skipper again and be back out on Copano Bay, where everyone can just relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the water.

Help us welcome Lizzy back to Camp Aranzazu—but this time as an Activity Leader! After spending 7 years here as a camper, she is so happy to be on the other side giving back and creating meaningful memories. While it's hard for her to pick a favorite camp activity, you can bet she'll be having tons of fun kayaking and caring for our animals in the nature hut!
Help us give a big welcome to first-year Activity Leader, Aramani! A communications major at Huston-Tillotson University, she is most excited about making connections and creating new memories. Since she's a massive sucker for animals, Jay’s Nature Hut is the perfect spot for her to bond with campers. We are so happy to have her on the team this summer!

Help us welcome back our returning Activity Leader, Gill! This is her second summer at Camp Aranzazu, but she has also served as a resident activity leader helping our full-time staff with our non-summer campers. If you know Gill, you know she is always bringing the positive energy, especially when it comes to bayfront fishing where she loves watching campers try and try until they finally pull in a cool catch! When asked why she chose to come back when she could have worked anywhere else, Gill said it's just hard to not choose Camp Aranzazu…there’s NO place like camp!
Help us welcome first-time Activity Leader, Gaby! Coming to us from UTRGV, she is incredibly excited to be in Rockport this summer testing her aim at archery and teaching campers how to kayak. She is certainly no stranger to adventurous animals either—she once had 32 cats and even a pet alligator! We were excited to welcome Gaby to Camp Aranzazu this summer!

Help us welcome back returning Activity Leader, Ava! She is returning for her second summer at Camp Aranzazu and is just so excited to be back doing work that she genuinely loves. If her big smile is any proof, Ava wakes up every single day excited for new adventures and never gets tired of working with our campers! This summer, she can't wait to bring the energy to the challenge course and hype up everyone as they take their aim at archery.
Help us give a big welcome back to returning Activity Leader, Sophie! She is incredibly excited to get back into the Camp Aranzazu rhythm and work alongside her new coworkers this summer. She absolutely loves the camp environment and truly can't picture herself spending her summer anywhere else. Sophie’s absolute favorite spot is the challenge course, because she loves being part of the team that helps our campers build the confidence to try new and thrilling things!

Say hello to first-time Activity Leader, Kemkem! Coming to us from UTRGV, she previously served as a volunteer at Camp Aranzazu and completely fell in love with our environment, close-knit community, and the incredible impact camp has on everyone who visits. After that short time volunteering, Kemkem knew she wanted to dedicate her entire summer to creating a positive, supportive space for our campers!
Help us welcome first-time Activity Leader, Michael! He is excited to jump right into the adventure at Camp Aranzazu this summer. As a former camper himself, he knows firsthand how special this place is and can't wait to create fun, lasting experiences for other campers while sharing a place he absolutely loves with them! He is most excited to facilitate activities at the nature hut because of his huge love for animals. We’re excited for you to finish your first summer at Camp Aranzazu, Michael!

Help us welcome first-time Activity Leader, Amanda! Camp is the ideal setting for Amanda this summer as she completes an internship for her recreational therapy program at Texas State University. After meeting with our team at a career fair, she knew right away that Camp Aranzazu would be the perfect fit for her future career goals
Welcome to Camp Aranzazu, first-year Activity Leader, Faye! As an aspiring teacher, Faye is incredibly excited to work with new people and facilitate activities for a wide variety of different age groups this summer. Though they are new to camp this year, Faye has already found that our core values and the mission of our work deeply resonate with them. Faye is so proud to be part of making a truly safe, welcoming space for every single person who comes through the camp gates!

Say hello to first-year Activity Leader, Katie! She has been diving right into camp life, loving the chance to meet so many new people and take on fun, new experiences. After interviewing with our team, she was incredibly impressed by everything Camp Aranzazu offers its summer staff and couldn't wait to see all the moving parts that go into making our summer sessions possible.
Join us in welcoming back a familiar face for his second summer at Camp Aranzazu, Christian! He is so excited to see returning campers and be part of our summer team once again. After spending the rest of the year supporting our weekend sessions and day camps as a resident activity leader, he is thrilled to reunite with friends and show off exactly why this place is so special to him. This summer, he's especially looking forward to watching campers take on new adventures, conquer their fears, and fly through the air on the screamer!

Give a big Camp Aranzazu hello to first-year Activity Leader, Perla! She is incredibly excited to join in on the fun and spend her summer working alongside friends to create unforgettable experiences for our campers. Ready to jump straight into new adventures, Perla can't wait to spend her time out on the water as a first-time skipper on Copano Bay!
Help us welcome back veteran Activity Leader, Andrea! Andrea is returning for their third summer at Camp Aranzazu, so if you’ve camped with us over the last couple of years, you’ve probably run into them and received all the encouragement you needed to tackle your next adventure. Even with two years of experience under their belt, Andrea is incredibly excited to keep learning, growing, and constantly finding ways to give our campers the absolute best experience possible.

Help us welcome first-time Activity Leader, Amelia! She was once a camper right here at Camp Aranzazu, and she is so looking forward to sharing that same magical experience with our campers this summer. In true camp fashion, Amelia is excited to dive into new adventures and meet wonderful people along the way. She is also ready to get creative with our camp crafts—the Art Center is definitely calling her name!
Help us welcome first-year Activity Leader, Kya! Coming to us from Huston-Tillotson University, Kya is excited to dive straight into camp life this summer. Knowing she wanted to spend her summer surrounded by nature, Kya knew Camp Aranzazu would provide the perfect setting! She is also incredibly eager to share her love of music with our campers and the rest of the team.

Help us welcome back Activity Leader Natalina for her third summer at Camp Aranzazu! Having originally journeyed all the way from Wisconsin to share her love of the bayfront, she is so excited to get back out on the water and show our campers all the amazing things they can do at camp. She will also be serving as a lifeguard again this summer, so you know you've got to follow your pool and bayfront rules!
Welcome Maggie for your first summer at Camp Aranzazu! She is incredibly excited to be part of creating camp magic this year and is especially looking forward to cooling off in our pools and enjoying time out on the bayfront. Maggie can't wait to dive into such a positive community and work alongside people of all ages and abilities!

Every single activity leader brought their own unique passion and purpose to camp this season, and this phenomenal crew is already hard at work sparking unforgettable experiences and lasting connections. A few weeks into the summer, they have completely hit their stride, and we are so proud of the dedication, joy, and energy they bring to our campers every single day. We cannot wait to watch their collective impact continue to unfold across camp over the coming weeks!
